By participating in the party of Emojis, China broke the Guinness record on Sunday. A thousand people gathered in Fuyang City of Anhui Province, holding boards with the popular ideograms and smileys used in online messages. (Photos: VCG)

The organizer asked participants, who wore black T-shirts, trousers and shoes, to stand on specified positions for at least five minutes.

According to the authorities from Guinness, 932 people took part in the activity.

Originating on Japanese mobile phones in 1999, emojis have become increasingly popular in China. People in the country also love to recreate their memes based on the emojis.
