A Chinese mainland spokesperson on Thursday slammed the provocations coming from "Taiwan independence" forces, warning potential actions if "certain people" cross the red line.

Ma Xiaoguang, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, made the remarks at a daily briefing when asked to comment on U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan's false remarks about Taiwan.

Taiwan is a part of China, Ma stressed, urging the United States to abide by the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. joint communiques.

The mainland spokesperson blamed Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party authority for "relying on the United States to seek independence" and the United States for "playing the Taiwan card."

"The Taiwan issue is all in all China's internal matters and won't allow any foreign interference," he said.
