WUHAN, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Police in central China's Hubei Province have detained 24 suspects involved in trans-provincial drug trafficking, the Enshi Public Security Bureau announced Thursday.

In March 2018, police in the city of Enshi found clues about the drug trafficking gang and began to collect evidence in the southwest municipality of Chongqing and provinces including Fujian and Hunan.

After more than nine months of investigation, police found that the gang had sold over 30 kg of drugs. Police used big data to trace the suspects and busted two drug production dens with 2 kg of methamphetamine seized at the scene.

During a police operation, a gang member slammed his car into two police vehicles and abandoned the drugs while attempting to escape. Some gang members also attacked the police.

In June 2018, police arrested the leading members of the gang. Currently, all 24 members have been arrested.
