The Chinese mainland reported 276 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Friday, including 253 domestically transmitted and 23 imported, the National Health Commission said in its daily report on Saturday.
The Chinese mainland also reported 1,796 asymptomatic infections, including 1,726 locally transmitted and 70 imported on Friday, the National Health Commission said.
One new death was reported on Friday in Shanghai. The city reported 194 new local confirmed cases and 1,487 local asymptomatic infections.
There were 6,353 active cases on the Chinese mainland as of Friday, with 384 in critical condition.
Friday also saw 866 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, the commission said.
The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 221,565, and the death toll stood at 5,206.
