China's Suzhou reports one new confirmed COVID-19 case

NANJING, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- The eastern Chinese city of Suzhou in Jiangsu Province reported one confirmed COVID-19 case and one asymptomatic case in the first 15 hours of Tuesday. All new cases were identified in designated quarantine locations, according to local authorities.

As of 3 p.m. Tuesday, Suzhou had registered a total of 102 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 25 asymptomatic cases since new infections were first reported on Feb. 13, the city's COVID-19 prevention and control headquarters said.

Suzhou has now classified 55 areas as medium-risk for COVID-19. As of 3 p.m. Tuesday, Suzhou has traced a total of 8,561 close contacts and 14,339 secondary close contacts.

At 6 a.m. Tuesday, the city launched a new mass nucleic acid testing campaign to screen for as many infections as possible. By 3 p.m. Tuesday, samples had been collected from over 6 million people in Suzhou's six urban districts.
