Chinese mainland reports 308 new local COVID-19 cases, 1,440 local asymptomatic infections

The Chinese mainland reported 382 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, including 308 domestically transmitted and 74 imported, data from the National Health Commission showed on Tuesday.

The Chinese mainland also reported 1,513 asymptomatic infections on Monday, including 1,440 locally transmitted and 73 imported, the National Health Commission said.

There were 8,391 active cases on the Chinese mainland as of Monday, with 35 in critical condition.

Monday also saw 574 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, the commission added.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 240,233 and the death toll stood at 5,226.
