Pan-Pearl River Delta members pledge to deepen cooperation

Members of the Pan-Pearl River Delta (PPRD) region have reached consensus on improving coordination and deepening regional cooperation to achieve greater prosperity.

The 11 members of the region will jointly promote the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and strengthen the connectivity of infrastructure, according to a joint meeting held in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Friday.

The PPRD region includes Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan as well as Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions. The joint meeting mechanism attended by provincial governors and chief executives was launched in 2004.

The members also agreed to build a regional collaborative industrial system and an innovation network, and promote tourism cooperation, market integration and ecological progress, according to the meeting.
