China's AI expert Feng Yanghe dies at 38

Feng Yanghe, China's renowned expert in command and control systems and artificial intelligence, died in a car accident in Beijing on July 1 at the age of 38, according to media reports on Saturday.

Feng was an associate professor and doctoral supervisor at the National University of Defense Technology. Before joining the National University of Defense Technology, he was a visiting scholar and a research assistant professor with Harvard University and The University of Iowa. His primary research interests included causal discovery[Causal discovery aims to infer causal structure from data.] and inference, active learning and reinforcement learning.

Feng was an outstanding scholar who achieved remarkable accomplishments and made great contributions to command and control systems and artificial intelligence in his brief yet illustrious career.
