The total length of China's railway grew from 98,000 kilometers in 2012 to 155,000 kilometers in 2022, including the 42,000 kilometers of high-speed rail, from 9,000 kilometers ten years ago, Fei Dongbin, head of the National Railway Administration, told a conference on Friday.
According to Fei, China has built the world’s largest high-speed railroad network over the last decade.
At present, China’s railroad passenger turnover, cargo volume, freight turnover and transport density all rank first in the world.
Fuxing bullet trains have achieved full coverage of China’s 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, with more than 70 percent of passengers choosing to travel by high speed trains.
China has also built the world’s largest railroad Internet ticketing system, serving more than 720 million registered users.
