Two people were confirmed dead and four people remained missing after two landslides hit Mayang County, central China’s Hunan Province on Thursday.

Torrential rain battered Mayang County from Wednesday to Thursday, causing two landslides.

In Tonglingxi Village, two residential building collapsed, displacing a family of four. Rescue workers and medical personnel are searching for the missing.

Another landslide wrought havoc on Dahuaping Village and buried two villagers, who later died despite rescue efforts.
