Chinese mainland reports 535 new local confirmed COVID-19 cases, 4,961 new local asymptomatic infections

The Chinese mainland reported 569 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, including 535 domestically transmitted and 34 imported, data from the National Health Commission showed on Monday.

The Chinese mainland also reported 5,074 asymptomatic infections on Sunday, including 4,961 locally transmitted and 113 imported, the National Health Commission said.

There were 6,617 active cases on the Chinese mainland as of Sunday, with 30 in critical condition.

Sunday also saw 276 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, the commission added.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 264,123 and the death toll stood at 5,226.
