China has officially handed a written letter to New Zealand to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), according to the country's Ministry of Commerce (MOC).

CPTPP is a free trade agreement involving New Zealand and 10 other countries in the Asia Pacific region.
