Chinese mainland reports 3,748 new local confirmed COVID-19 cases, 36,304 new local asymptomatic infections

The Chinese mainland reported 3,822 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, including 3,748 domestically transmitted and 74 imported, data from the National Health Commission showed on Monday.

The Chinese mainland also reported 36,525 asymptomatic infections on Sunday, including 36,304 locally transmitted and 221 imported, the National Health Commission said.

There were 33,129 active cases on the Chinese mainland as of Sunday, with 104 in critical condition.

Sunday also saw 2,103 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, the commission added.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 311,624 and the death toll stood at 5,233.
