In scenarios in which parents are not able to go home due to a COVID-19 quarantine, the personnel in charge of child-related work in the community or the village will quickly respond and offer to help the unattended children, Zeng Qun, the deputy director of Shanghai’s Civil Affairs Bureau, said Saturday.

At a press conference on the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic in Shanghai, Zeng said that caregivers will be assigned to provide temporary care for the daily lives of the unattended children, which will be in accordance with virus prevention and control measures and be carried out with parents’ consent.
