Chinese mainland reports 4,233 new local confirmed COVID-19 cases, 30,539 new local asymptomatic infections

The Chinese mainland reported 4,278 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Thursday, including 4,233 domestically transmitted and 45 imported, data from the National Health Commission showed on Friday.

The Chinese mainland also reported 30,702 asymptomatic infections on Thursday, including 30,539 locally transmitted and 163 imported, the National Health Commission said.

There were 38,748 active cases on the Chinese mainland as of Thursday, with 98 in critical condition.

Thursday also saw 2,877 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, the commission added.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 327,964 and the death toll stood at 5,233.
