A parent-child ward opened Monday evening at the cabin hospital in Shanghai New International Expo Center.

The medical team from Shanghai Children’s Medical Center was ordered on Sunday afternoon to open a larger ward for children at the hospital.

The 59-member medical team went to the hospital on Monday morning and opened the ward that same day.

Treating children and parents together empowers children to live with their parents for company and better care.

As of 8 am Tuesday, 177 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have been admitted to the ward, including 89 children.
