Chinese mainland reports 2,145 new local confirmed COVID-19 cases, 25,754 new local asymptomatic infections

The Chinese mainland reported 2,225 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, including 2,145 domestically transmitted and 8 imported, data from the National Health Commission showed on Tuesday.

The Chinese mainland also reported 25,902 asymptomatic infections on Monday, including 25,754 locally transmitted and 148 imported, the National Health Commission said.

There were 23,296 active cases on the Chinese mainland as of Monday, with 110 in critical condition.

Monday also saw 1,137 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, the commission added.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 290,787 and the death toll stood at 5,231.
