Chinese mainland reports 1,275 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 1,219 locally transmitted

The Chinese mainland reported 1,275 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, including 1,219 domestically transmitted and 56 imported, the National Health Commission said in its daily report on Monday.

Of the new local cases, 1,086 were reported in Jilin, 50 in Shanghai, 12 in Liaoning, 10 in Heilongjiang, nine each in Fujian and Henan, eight in Tianjin, eight in Shandong, seven in Hebei, four in Guangdong, four in Shaanxi, three each in Jiangsu and Anhui, two in Zhejiang, one each in Jiangxi, Guangxi and Yunnan, the commission said.

Among the imported cases, 14 were reported in Guangxi, 12 in Sichuan, 10 in Shanghai, six in Guangdong, four in Jilin, three each in Zhejiang and Fujian, two in Beijing, one each in Heilongjiang and Henan, the commission added.

There were 27,745 active cases on Chinese mainland as of Sunday, with 58 in critical conditions. No deaths related to the disease were reported.

Sunday also saw 1,097 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, according to the commission.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 144,515, with the death toll stood at 4,638.
