The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has been building a pathway to poverty alleviation through international cooperation. The World Bank has projected that the global extreme poverty rate will decline from 9.5 percent in 2015 to 3.9 percent by 2030 thanks in no small part to the BRI.
