Wang said that China attaches great importance to the two-way people-to-people exchanges between China and Singapore, and through joint efforts, the two sides formally signed the mutual visa exemption agreement in Beijing on Thursday.

“The agreement will enter into force on February 9. After that, ordinary passport holders from both sides will be able to enter each other's countries visa-free for a stay of up to 30 days,” introduced the spokesperson.

“The entry into force of the visa-free deal before the Chinese Year of the Dragon is undoubtedly a Lunar New Year gift to the people of the two countries, which will further promote humanistic exchanges between China and Singapore, and facilitate the continuous development of the relationship between China and Singapore and the cooperation in various fields,” Wang said.
