China will deepen cooperation with all parties under the Global Development Initiative, sharing the opportunities of Chinese-style modernization and fostering common progress, the foreign ministry said on Friday.

“Over the past three years, the Global Development Initiative has seen an expanding network of supporters, with numerous achievements and support from more than 100 countries and several international organizations, including the United Nations,” Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Mao Ning said at a routine press briefing in Beijing. “More than 80 countries have joined the Group of Friends of the Global Development Initiative.
“China has established the Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund, which has facilitated over 150 projects, and the construction of the Global Development Promotion Center network is fully underway.”
On the path to development and prosperity, no country should be left behind and no one should be left out, Mao said.
“This is the vision of the Global Development Initiative and also the goal advocated by the United Nations,” she said.
The initiative originated with China, but its outcomes and opportunities belonged to the world, Mao said.
"At the upcoming general debate of the UN General Assembly, Foreign Minister Wang Yi is about to attend the Global Development Initiative Supports the Global South ‒ China in Action-themed launch event, where he will discuss development cooperation with all parties and gather forces to support the development and revitalization of the Global South," the spokesperson said. "We will continue to strengthen our partnership under the Global Development Initiative, share the fruits of Chinese modernization with the world, accelerate the implementation of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and work towards shared prosperity.”
