Chongyang Festival, also known as the Double Ninth Festival, falls on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month on the Chinese lunar calendar. This year, it arrives on Friday, October 11.

In Chinese folklore, the number nine is a homonym of the Chinese word "jiu," which contains the auspicious meaning of "a long and healthy life."

The day also marks China's Seniors' Day. President Xi Jinping once said, "Respecting the elderly is a traditional virtue of Chinese culture. We should advocate the virtue throughout our society and value it as a social norm." On this special day, let's wish our seniors good health and long life!
