Beijing (People's Daily) -The 2025 Zhongguancun Forum (ZGC Forum) kicked off in Beijing on Thursday, focusing on innovations in cutting-edge fields ranging from large language models to quantum technology and brain-computer interfaces.

This year's forum hosts a five-day gathering of top scientists, leading entrepreneurs and senior policymakers from over 100 countries.

The mayor of Beijing, Yin Yong, presided over the opening ceremony, and Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing officially declared this year's forum open.

International guests, including Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, World Intellectual Property Organization Director-General Daren Tang and CEO of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation Ebba Lund, attended the ceremony and shared their insights on the global scientific and technological landscape, highlighting China's vital role in driving innovation.

During the opening ceremony, the organizers announced key achievements from the ZGC Forum and unveiled the "Top 10 Advances of 2024 in China."

Themed "New Quality Productive Forces and Global Science and Technology Cooperation," this year's forum features five major sections: forums and conferences, technology transactions, achievement releases, cutting-edge competitions and supporting events. Through more than 120 events, it aims to promote the exchange of groundbreaking ideas in AI, embodied intelligence, quantum technology, biomedicine, 6G, and brain-computer interfaces.

Launched in 2007, the ZGC Forum has become a key platform for advancing global science and technology. It brings together scientists, entrepreneurs and policymakers from over 100 countries to discuss cutting-edge innovations and foster international collaboration.
