Countries with critical mineral resources should play a constructive role in maintaining the security and stability of global industrial and supply chains, and ensure the smooth progress of normal economic and trade cooperation, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said on Tuesday.

Spokesperson Guo Jiakun made the remarks at a regular press briefing when asked about a critical-minerals agreement signed on Monday by US President Donald Trump and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

The formation of the global industrial and supply chains is the result of market and enterprise choices, Guo said.
