A woman from Central China's Henan Province has drawn public attention after posting daily videos on short video-sharing platform Douyin apologizing to her unfaithful husband for five consecutive days since Monday. The husband's company responded to public concern in a statement on Saturday that the man involved had been given Party disciplinary punishment, suspended from duty and placed under investigation, Hongxing News and chinanews.com.cn reported on Saturday.

According to the statement released on Saturday by the WeChat account of Gengcun Mine, a subsidiary of Henan Dayou Energy Co, the husband involved in the case surnamed Gao, an employee, was given Party disciplinary punishment on December 5, 2025. The company has suspended him from duty, launched an investigation and will handle the matter in accordance with regulations and discipline based on the investigation results, the statement said.
According to previous media reports, the wife surnamed Niu runs the Douyin account "Najiechongsheng," on which she began posting daily apology videos from Monday.
Niu alleged that Gao had engaged in a five-year extramarital relationship with a married female colleague. The videos were posted in compliance with a court ruling that required Niu to issue a public apology to Gao and his colleague, after Niu, beginning in September 2025, publicly disclosed their names, workplace information and spending records - disclosures the court found constituted an infringement of their right to reputation.
The court ruled that while extramarital affairs fall within the realm of morality, Niu exceeded the bounds of legitimate rights protection by publicly posting others' personal information and unverified accusations of improper relationships on social media, thereby infringing upon others' right to reputation, Fengmian News reported on Saturday.
The court ordered Niu to delete the relevant infringing content after the judgment takes effect, issue a court-approved public apology on social media and keep it posted for at least 15 days without deletion or removal, Jimu News reported on Saturday.
In her videos, Niu said that her disclosures were a "last resort," intended to "reveal the truth" and "warn others." The posts quickly spread across local social media circles, according to Fengmian News.
As of Saturday, Niu's daily apology videos on Douyin had been posted for five consecutive days, with each video receiving more than 300,000 likes. Her follower count had risen to 564,000, and she has also created a public group chat labelled "Welcome like-minded friends."
