Guo Jiakun, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson, made the remarks in Beijing during a routine press briefing when asked about NATO spokesperson's statement related to Greenland.
A NATO spokesperson reportedly said that negotiations between Denmark, Greenland and the United States would go forward aimed at ensuring that Russia and China never gain a foothold in Greenland economically or militarily.
"The so-called 'China threat' is groundless," said Guo.
Guo also noted that China always advocates managing nation-to-nation relations based on the purposes and principles of the UN Charter.
