BEIJING, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor Wang Huning met in Beijing on Monday with a delegation from the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, headed by its chairman Leonid Slutsky.

Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said China is willing to work with Russia to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, steadily consolidate strategic mutual trust, deepen good-neighborly friendship and practical cooperation, advance party-to-party exchanges, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.

Wang, also chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), also noted that the CPPCC stands ready to make positive contributions to achieve these goals.

Slutsky said the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia is ready to step up exchanges with the CPC and work jointly to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state.

Noting that the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia firmly upholds the one-China principle, Slutsky said it supports the two countries in deepening ties between their governments and legislative bodies, enhancing coordination and cooperation within multilateral mechanisms such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the BRICS, cementing traditional bilateral friendship and safeguarding the common interests of Global South countries.
