At a press conference, the MGTO unveiled programs for the 2026 Chinese New Year Activities, the Parade for Celebration of the Year of the Horse, and the 2026 Chinese New Year Drones and Fireworks Displays.

The parade will run from Feb. 19 to March 8, featuring float processions, cultural performances, and exhibitions. Approximately 1,300 performers from Macao, Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland, and several overseas countries will take part, along with 17 themed floats, the office noted.

The tourism office said it will also host three drones and fireworks displays. For the first time, fireworks and 3,888 drones in formation will dazzle the sky above the sea overlooking Macao Tower. The sessions are scheduled on Feb. 19, Feb. 23, and March 3, each spanning about 15 minutes.

Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, MGTO director, said the events will integrate live performances with technology and artistic elements, driving Macao's integrated tourism and leisure industries toward diversified growth.
