Vietnam welcomes nearly 2.5 mln int'l arrivals in January

HANOI, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam welcomed nearly 2.5 million international arrivals in January, official data showed on Friday.

The figure represented an increase of 18.5 percent compared with the same period last year, according to the National Statistics Office.
Of the total, about 2 million arrivals entered the country by air, accounting for 79.6 percent.
The majority of visitors came from Asia, totaling more than 1.8 million, the office said.
