In response to a question on Cuba facing an aviation fuel shortage from today until March 11, which has led several international airlines to suspend flights to the country, and asking whether any Chinese nationals are stranded in Cuba or whether China will take concrete measures to help ease Cuba's aviation fuel supply shortage, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Tuesday that regarding the first question, there have been no reports of Chinese citizens being stranded in Cuba so far.

Lin noted that as for the second question, inquiries for specific details should be directed to relevant Chinese authorities. He reiterated that China firmly supports Cuba in safeguarding its national sovereignty and security, opposes external interference, and resolutely rejects actions and inhumane practices that deprive the Cuban people of their right to survival and development. China will, as always, provide Cuba with support and assistance within our capacity.
