Head-of-state diplomacy plays an irreplaceable strategic guiding role in China-U.S. relations, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Thursday in response to a query about U.S. President Donald Trump's visit to China.
During their recent phone call, President Trump once again expressed his wish to visit China in April, and Chinese President Xi Jinping reaffirmed his invitation, spokesperson Lin Jian noted. And the two sides are maintaining communication on this matter.
The China-U.S. economic and trade relations are mutually beneficial and win-win in nature, Lin said. The two countries should jointly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, injecting more certainty and stability into China-U.S. economic and trade cooperation as well as the world economy.
