China stands ready to share the benefits of its innovative development with more countries and people, a foreign ministry spokesperson said on Friday.
China is the first country to exceed 5 million valid domestic invention patents and holds 60 percent of global AI patents and two-thirds of global robotics patents, according to the China National Intellectual Property Administration and China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Mao noted that when it comes to technological innovation, what impressed her most during this Spring Festival was the robot performance at the Spring Festival Gala and the New Year greeting videos generated by ByteDance's Seedance 2.0. She said achievements in scientific and technological innovation are transforming daily life and bringing more surprises and convenience.
"Scientific and technological innovation serves as a strong driving force for China's high-quality development and an important pillar of Chinese modernization," Mao said. She pointed out that the 15th Five-Year Plan proposes to further boost China's innovation capacity, with significantly greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology set as one of the major development goals.
Mao stressed that China's scientific and technological innovation always follows the principles of people-centered development, technology for good, and inclusive growth. "We will advance international exchanges and cooperation with a more open attitude, so that the opportunities brought by China's innovation-driven development will benefit more countries and peoples," Mao added.
