According to the embassy, on March 1, multiple Chinese citizens were subjected to harassment by several Japanese right-wing individuals while watching a marathon race on the streets of Tokyo. The situation was brought under control by police officers at the scene.

The embassy said it immediately lodged representations with local police, demanding that the Japanese side effectively safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens in Japan.

In its latest reminder on Wednesday, the embassy again advised Chinese citizens to refrain from traveling to Japan for the time being. It also urged those currently in Japan to heighten their awareness of personal safety and strengthen self-protection measures.

In case of emergencies, the embassy advised Chinese nationals to promptly report to the police and seek assistance from Chinese diplomatic missions in Japan.
