China on Monday expressed firm opposition to any interference in the internal affairs of other countries under any pretext, stressing that Iran's sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity should be respected.

Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made the remarks at a routine press briefing when asked about the situation in Iran.

"China opposes interference in other countries' internal affairs under any pretext," Guo said, adding that Iran's sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity must be respected.

The spokesperson called for an immediate cessation of military actions and urged all relevant parties to return to the path of dialogue and negotiation as soon as possible to prevent further escalation of tensions.
