In response to a media question regarding reports that Taiwan island is considering issuing bonds for the first time and diversifying financing through its overseas partners for investments abroad, claiming this is one of the efforts by so-called "democratic countries" to resist the diplomatic isolation imposed by China, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Tuesday in a press conference that the DPP authorities are accustomed to using trade, investment and other pretexts to engage in "Taiwan independence" separatist activities internationally and expand their so-called international space, a scheme that is doomed to fail.

Guo said that the DPP authorities' despicable tricks cannot change the historical and legal fact that Taiwan is part of China's territory, cannot shake the solid international consensus on the one-China principle, and cannot stop the historical trend toward China's complete reunification.
