Leung Chun-ying, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and former chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, discusses Hong Kong's role in the national 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) in an interview with People's Daily. He says Hong Kong will draft its first five-year development plan in line with national strategies while maintaining the "one country, two systems" principle. Leung noted that opportunities for Hong Kong are not limited to sections of the national plan that specifically mention the region.
