China opposes the use of force in international relations, and the killing of Iranian leaders and attacks on civilian targets are unacceptable, foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Thursday at a regular press conference.

Lin stated that China urges relevant parties to immediately cease military operations and prevent the regional situation from spiraling out of control. Earlier, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani was killed in an airstrike launched by Israel.
