Three missing people have been confirmed dead after a roof collapse at a lead mine in Lancang Lahu autonomous county, Yunnan province, local authorities said on Monday.
The accident occurred at around 7:30 pm on Thursday at a section of an underground shaft operated by Yunnan Lancang Lead Mine, according to the statement from a working group from Lancang county.
Following the incident, rescue teams from emergency response, firefighting, public security, and health departments were mobilized to conduct round-the-clock operations, according to the statement.
The victims' bodies were found by 11:50 pm on Sunday, the statement said.
Rescue work has concluded, and follow-up handling is underway. An investigation into the cause of the accident has been launched, and those responsible will be held accountable in accordance with laws and regulations, it added.
