After a building partially collapsed early on Sunday, local authorities in Hailin Township, Hailin city, Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, on Monday said the rescue efforts have completed, and all the nine people trapped were found, with two injured and seven killed, per a statement by Hailin authorities.
According to the statement on Hailin authority's WeChat account, the incident occurred at around 12 am on Sunday. Rescue operations were completed at 11:27 am on Monday.
The two survivors were hospitalized for treatment and were without life-threating danger.
A report by China Newsweek on Sunday said the collapsed structure was a three-story building located not far from Hailin Railway Station. It was jointly used by a hotpot restaurant and a karaoke venue.
The cause of the collapse is currently under investigation, according to the government statement.
