In response to a question about the passage of Chinese vessels through the Strait of Hormuz and whether Iran will continue to safeguard navigation in the Strait, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Tuesday that following coordination with the relevant parties, three Chinese vessels have transited the Strait of Hormuz in recent days, and we express our gratitude for the assistance provided by the relevant parties.

The Strait of Hormuz and its adjacent waters are important thoroughfares for international cargo transportation and trade, said Mao, adding that China calls for an early ceasefire and end to conflicts to restore peace and stability in the Gulf region.
