Pear blossoms are in full bloom in Jikayi, a Tibetan village in western Sichuan, recently named among the world's Best Tourism Villages, attracting visitors eager to experience its natural beauty and distinctive culture.

Located in Danba county on the southeastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau at an altitude of about 2,000 meters, the village received the recognition from the United Nations World Tourism Organization in October.

Jikayi is home to dozens of towering pear trees, some more than a century old. Beyond the blossoms, visitors can explore Gyalrong Tibetan culture, sample local cuisine and experience intangible cultural heritage, including traditional watchtower construction techniques and coming-of-age ceremonies.

The Gyalrong Tibetans, an indigenous group mainly living in western Sichuan, are known for their stone architecture and rich cultural traditions.

"Our goal is to offer visitors more than just flower viewing. We want to invite them to step into the scene," Du Juan, director of Danba's culture, radio, television and tourism bureau, said.

To enrich the pear blossom season, the county has introduced activities such as cycling tours and concerts to encourage longer stays, she said.
