The Hani terraces in Lyuchun county, Honghe Hani and Yi autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province, have entered their peak spring plowing season, with the layered fields turning a vivid green.
Along the field ridges, local farmers step barefoot into the moist soil, working in coordinated groups to plow, fertilize, pull rice seedlings, transport, and plant them.

Li Ouhei, a villager, said this is the ideal time for spring planting. Despite managing a large area of fields, he said the work can be completed within one or two days with the help of relatives.
Local authorities say the county plans to cultivate about 9,333 hectares of rice this year, with all planting expected to be completed by mid-April.
