When asked to comment on Hungary's parliamentary elections on April 12, in which Tisza party leader Peter Magyar has declared victory, while Fidesz party leader Viktor Orban has conceded defeat and extended congratulations to Magyar, and on China's expectations for the future development of China-Hungary relations, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Monday that China congratulates the Tisza party led by Magyar on its victory in Hungary's elections.
China highly values the development of China-Hungary relations. On the basis of mutual respect, equality, mutual benefit and win-win, China stands ready to strengthen high-level exchanges, enhance political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation, and promote people-to-people and cultural exchanges with the new Hungarian government to deliver benefits to the two peoples, the spokesperson said.
