To Lam, general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and Vietnamese president, on Thursday morning departed Beijing by high-speed railway to south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, continuing his visit to China.

Following his visit to Xiong'an New Area on Tuesday aboard the Fuxing high-speed trains, To Lam again chose to travel by high-speed railway during his trip to Guangxi, demonstrating his strong interest in the development and construction of China's high-speed rail system.

As the only provincial-level region in China that shares both a land and sea border with Vietnam, Guangxi serves as a frontier window for exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, as well as for China's opening up and cooperation with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
