The People's Bank of China announced that the set of six coins -- three gold and three silver -- will be available for sale on May 10.
The Chinese characters Jixiang, meaning auspiciousness, are displayed on the face of the coins, surrounded by traditional auspicious patterns, along with the country name and year.
Since their debut in 2015, the auspicious culture coins have been issued for consecutive years, with the heart-shaped versions becoming a popular highlight.
The 3-gram heart-shaped gold coin features wild geese and auspicious flowers on its reverse side and carries a face value of 50 yuan (about 7.3 U.S. dollars). Its maximum mintage is 20,000 pieces.
The 30-gram heart-shaped silver coin has a face value of 10 yuan and a maximum mintage of 40,000 pieces.
