China hopes the EU will view its trade relationship with China from an all-round, objective and positive perspective, a foreign ministry spokesperson said on Friday.

When asked at a regular press conference about a report that the EU is advancing a cybersecurity act to prohibit Chinese companies from critical infrastructure construction in Europe, spokesperson Lin Jian stated that Chinese authorities have recently submitted assessments and comments to the EU on a draft revision of the act and expressed China's grave concern and formal position.
China hopes the EU will take this seriously, Lin added.
China is closely following relevant EU legislative developments and stands ready to engage in dialogue and communication with the EU on this matter, Lin said.
China hopes the EU will adopt a comprehensive, objective, and positive view of China-EU economic and trade relations, abide by WTO rules and market principles, and cease practices that harm others without benefiting itself, Lin said.
"Should the EU insist on enacting the law and treating Chinese enterprises in a discriminatory manner, China will take resolute measures to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of its enterprises," said Lin.
