China's position on the situation in Iran is consistent and China will continue to play a positive role in promoting a ceasefire, encouraging an end to hostilities, and facilitating dialogue and negotiations, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said during a press conference on Monday in response to reports that the leaders of China and the US will discuss Iran-related issues.
