China urges all relevant parties to focus on preventing the resumption of hostilities in Iran, while firmly opposing any attempts to smear or implicate China in the issue, Chinese foreign ministry said on Tuesday.

Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made the remarks during a regular press briefing in Beijing in response to a media inquiry regarding the situation in Iran.

"Regarding the Iran situation, the top priority is to make every effort to prevent the resumption of hostilities and safeguard peace and stability, rather than maliciously linking the issue to China," he said.
