China solemnly urges Japan's right-wing forces to heed the voice of justice and refrain from rushing headlong down the dead-end path of neo-militarism, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Friday.

Mao made the remarks at a regular press briefing when asked to comment on media reports that the International Symposium Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Commencement of the Tokyo Trial, jointly organized by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders, was held in Shanghai from May 28 to 29.

The Tokyo Trial examined human conscience and delivered a verdict on historical justice. In light of the current rise of Japan's neo-militarism, revisiting the background, conclusions, and principles of the Tokyo Trial carries greater practical significance, Mao said.
