China on Thursday rejected claims by the Five Eyes Alliance that it had recruited so-called "intelligence personnel."
Speaking at a daily press briefing in Beijing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said the Five Eyes Alliance, as the world's largest intelligence cooperation alliance, has long conducted large-scale and systematic espionage activities around the world.
It is ironic that such an alliance would accuse China of posing a so-called "spy threat," Mao said.
